I Hate Systems

Chapter 135: I Thought You Had Died, Regriel

Chapter 135: I Thought You Had Died, Regriel

A month passed as Compass Carburettor had recovered enough to function. His body had recovered pretty quickly. But his mind had taken so long to heal. It seemed dealing with a System took a greater toll on him than he had expected.

It was a necessity to rest plenty so that he would be able to think and plan his subsequent actions with all his might.

Moreover, now that he had recovered, he walked through Mohart City, entering a certain house to see four women seated within. They had been house arrested, with plenty of Haggons placed on standby.

So, they hadn’t managed to escape all along. Moreover, even if no Haggon had been posted at the place, they still wouldn’t have been able to escape.

‘Dammit, this is worse than I had expected.’ He sighed, watching their listless expressions. Once Regriel died and the Slave Harem System was destroyed, the bindings of senseless love on them had vanished, causing their real feelings to gradually surface.

And here came a multitude of regret, disgust, despair, etc. They were unable to come to terms with reality, becoming broken selves of their past. They became broken to such an extent that at times, they even struggled to breathe, a voluntary action taken by the body.

It was especially true for General Artica. After all, she was a proud General of the Entropica Kingdom, someone who strongly stood on the side of justice, having devoted herself to the betterment of her Kingdom.

Loyalty was something ingrained into the depths of her character. So, whether it was betraying her husband, her family, or her country, all of them were out of character.

And, there was Regriel, a person that had whipped her subordinates to death. They were subordinates that adored her, mimicking her values to lay their lives for the Kingdom. The men were punished unfairly, sent to the dungeons to rot away while the women were harassed and forced upon by Regriel.

If there was a picture for detest, hatred, loathing, and all emotions along that line of thought, General Artica would paste the pictures of Regriel and his siblings on that. That was why when Ephemella rebelled against the King of Entropica Kingdom, General Artica took the lead to charge at the front and personally sever the heads of all Royalty.

It was for the Kingdom she adored, the place she was born and raised at, and the place she swore to protect; she didn’t wish for it to be trampled on by the likes of incompetent people.

And now, she had betrayed her Kingdom by joining hands with the scourge that harmed the Kingdom, both in making it hell for its soldiers and also siphoning away the Kingdom’s wealth to enemy Kingdoms through lavish spending, pursuing ignorant bliss.

She betrayed her husband by sleeping with the said scourge. And it wasn’t once or twice. But, the number had reached such a frightening amount that there probably wasn’t any trace of her husband left on her anymore.

And all along, she had been happy to do so. Her character had been flipped by Regriel to such an extent that once she came to herself, she was unable to endure it. Her brain short-circuited as she became a hollow husk of her former self.

She had done everything that went against her values, values that she had pursued and followed throughout her life. If not for the fact that she was broken beyond repair, she would have committed suicide.

Compass Carburettor looked at the other three women, noticing that General Artica was the worst affected of them all. Following them was Princess Raecha who too seemed as broken as General Artica.

‘Did Regriel enslave those that hated him? But, he shouldn’t have known Princess Raecha for more than a month. The duration of their meeting shouldn’t have been too long. Then, how did he come to make her detest him to such an extent? Did they share some history before? Or just in their short encounter, he did something to her?’ Compass Carburettor frowned.

He wasn’t able to guess, commanding the members of Secret Society in the Heroica Empire to investigate into the matter further.

He then focused on Wakuta, noticing that she was brimming forth in anger and despair. She wasn’t broken like the other two, but still seemed emotionally damaged.

Compass Carburettor finally looked at Rikune, noticing that she seemed like someone that had swallowed a bucket full of flies while swimming in sh*t. She too was emotionally damaged but was still capable of speaking. At present, she was sprawled in one corner of the room, mumbling something nonstop while looking like she was shivering from cold.

The members of Secret Society had been helping them with eating and other activities, the reason they hadn’t starved to death yet.

Sighing, Compass Carburettor kneeled on the floor, saying with a gentle voice, “I’ll ask for your permission on behalf of all four of you.”

“…w…ha…t…?” It took Rikune a good half a minute to respond as she slowly looked at him.

“Do you wish to forget everything?” Compass Carburettor said, “Regriel is dead, so, I can perfectly wipe out all your memories from the past two months. You’ll return to normalcy once again after that. Shall I make it a reality?”

Rikune stared at him for more than twenty minutes like a statue, seemingly thinking of something. Whether she was actually thinking or not wasn’t known. All Compass Carburettor could notice was the faint changes to her eyes as they seemed to dry and become moist at irregular intervals while the pupils dilated erratically.

Finally, Rikune opened her mouth, saying with great difficulty, “Yes…”

“Thank you.” Compass Carburettor nodded, exiting the room as he communicated his plan to Hekatra, causing her to begin preparations. In the meantime, he accumulated as much Mental Energy as possible, increasing the levels of his abilities.

Finally, it was nighttime as he entered the room once again, gently touching the hands of General Artica, Princess Raecha, Wakuta, and Rikune in order, causing their eyes to regain their spirit and vitality as they became lively once again.

Core Skill—Slave Harem!

General Artica teared up to see the familiar face before her, one sporting green hair, hugging him immediately before planting a kiss on his forehead, “I thought you had died, Regriel.”
